The chemical characteristics and performance of pressure-sensitive adhesives are mainly reflected in the following nine aspects:
The bonding performance of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The wetting performance of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The peel resistance of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The initial adhesion and tack of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The creep shear resistance of pressure-sensitive adhesives,
The temperature resistance of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The flame retardancy of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The aging resistance and oxidation resistance of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The corrosion resistance of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
The above-mentioned performance of pressure-sensitive adhesives is greatly affected by the adhesive components. For example, rubber-type pressure-sensitive adhesives based on natural rubber have low curing temperatures, good viscosity, and good temperature resistance, but poor oxidation resistance and aging resistance.
Organosilicon pressure-sensitive adhesives with silicone rubber and silicone resin as components have strong peel resistance, but like the above-mentioned types of pressure-sensitive adhesives, they still have poor aging resistance.
There are many more, and I will not list them one by one. The type of pressure-sensitive adhesive components will produce different pressure-sensitive adhesive properties.
