Warning tapes are used in many situations to provide clear warnings, so purchasing them requires some knowledge to avoid being cheated. How exactly should you choose?
First, smell the tape. The quality of the warning tape is clearly reflected in its smell. For example, if the tape has a strong, pungent odor, it indicates that the adhesive strength is very poor. Especially in low-temperature environments, it will crack even when stuck to cardboard boxes. The stronger the smell, the better the initial adhesion may seem, but the adhesive surface will quickly dry out, and cracks will appear on the surface of the tape after it loses its adhesive properties.
Second, look at the color and brightness of the tape. Generally, the whiter the transparent tape looks, the fewer impurities it contains, and the better the adhesion. If the tape itself is yellow and has irregularly distributed white spots that cannot be wiped off by hand, it indicates impurities or traces of dried adhesive, and such products also have an unpleasant odor. If the tape is dark in color, it indicates that the tape is prone to breakage and should be avoided.
Finally, touch the tape to check its thickness. Experience tells us that hard tapes generally have poor quality, but thicker tapes will have less actual footage. Therefore, it is best to choose a thin and soft tape, as this will also improve its elasticity.
